It's been a while...

Hello everyone!

First off I have to start by saying that I am sorry it has been 8 months since I last posted a blog, it seems I am not as good at keeping up with a blog as I am at keeping up with Facebook or twitter! But that is about to change, with a new chapter in my life, I decided if nothing else,  this would be a fun way for my friends and family to keep up with what I am doing with my life, as it seems to be changing everyday. So this post will be an update!

August 4, 2012, I said goodbye to my college years and officially joined the real world. Although things haven't gone the way I imagined, I am learning and figuring things out slowly but surely. I am just lucky that i have the best friends and family in the world supporting me through everything! Job hunting is officially the worst hobby in the world, and I call it a hobby because lately looking on the Internet and writing letters basically bragging on myself (which if you know me, you know I hate to do) is more of a hobby I do for fun than actually paving the way for my future. Although the real world can be very discouraging, something happens that let's me know, it will be worth it one day. Most importantly, I have left the world of student organizations, which once again if you know me, is possibly the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I learned more being a part of those organizations, than I ever did in a class room. I am suddenly left with more free time than i care to have, and have officially become a has been. Instead of running organizations, I am now interviewing for them, which although has been weird and hard, it is the one thing that has made me feel the most "grown up." Take that for what you will, but I call that a very valuable lesson.

Although this whole alumni thing has been unchartered territory for me, it has honestly been one of the most exciting times in my life. I have been able to focus on me, and how I can make myself better. Turns out having time on your hands isn't so bad after all. That is pretty much the update on my life, and I promise for my sake and who knows, maybe yours, I will keep you updated!

Making it,

Katie
